Yoga Therapy: Customized to Your Needs

The holistic focus of Yoga encourages fascial health and the integration of mind, body, and spirit. As a Yoga teacher I teach postures, breathing exercises, and meditation, which when practiced regularly, can vastly improve mental, physical, and spiritual health. However, Yoga should always be customized to the individual. Therapeutic Yoga focuses on your needs. It is a gentle approach which can be used to create space in areas that are compressed, detoxify the physical and psychological bodies, relieve tight muscles and help induce the imperative “relaxation response” in restorative postures.

The Science (Veda) of Life (Ayur)

Abhyanga and Shirodhara are two gently transformative Ayurvedic therapies that involve pouring or massaging warm, herb-infused oils over the forehead (shirodhara) or over the entire body (abhyanga). These traditional, deeply soothing treatments calm the central nervous system, aid in the movement of lymph, hydrate connective tissues, clear toxins, and integrate the mind and body to achieve a heightened state of awareness, relaxation and contentment. These treatments are customized to each individual. Different oils from India are used for particular imbalances for deep and effective healing.
